In October 2022, my family and I made the move from Walmer near Deal, Kent, to Weymouth, Dorset, accompanied by our cherished canine companions. As the dust settled from the move and we unpacked our belongings, I eagerly set out to explore our new surroundings. Before long, I found several projects to dive into headfirst, eager to make a positive impact in our new community.

During one of our dog walks with my loyal companion, Rocky, we stumbled upon what appeared to be a drug den littered with bottles, a shopping trolley, cattle fencing, mattresses, tires, and even a flagpole, among other things, to the north of Teddy Bear Woods or Horse Lynch Plantation. I promptly reported this to Dorset Council, Dorset Wildlife Trust, and Dorset Police. Fortunately, the site was swiftly cleared, but I was shocked to learn that it had been there for over five years.

Collision Alert: Broken Bus Stop Poses Safety Hazard (28.11.23)

In late October, I noticed three bus stops along Louviers Road that were in dire need of attention, particularly the one depicted here, which appeared to have been struck by a vehicle. It took approximately five minutes to report the issue, and within a week, they were repaired and operational once again.

Clearing Up the Mess: Holzwickede Court's Scaffolding Dilemma (02.12.23)

In early December 2022, I stumbled upon a clutter of dumped scaffolding outside Holzwickede Court. Although it was on private land, as confirmed by Dorset Council, I reached out to the owner. Fortunately, they promptly attended to the matter and cleared the site.

In early December of that year, I noticed a rundown caravan parked in what appeared to be the overflow car park for Bincombe Primary School. Concerned about its presence, I reached out to Dorset Council, and after exchanging a few emails, action was taken. However, it wasn't until mid-January 2023 that the caravan was finally removed.

Cleanup Complete: Caravan Removed from School Car Park (02.12.22)

Since my arrival in Littlemoor with my family, I've been dismayed by the dismal condition of Louviers Road. The road is riddled with potholes, and the road markings are barely visible, particularly evident at the bus stops. I've reported these issues multiple times in an effort to prompt improvements.

Black Spray Attack: Woman's Residence Targeted by Vandal (15.12.22)

I suspect this was a community effort, so I cannot take all the credit. After noticing this issue posted on the Littlemoor Residents' Group, I promptly reported it to Dorset Council. They took action to clear it as best they could, but since it was on brick, the paint was absorbed and difficult to remove completely. As one of my priorities, I have suggested implementing a subsidised scheme for CCTV and spotlight installation, particularly in areas like Beverley Road, to enhance security.

Vanishing into Decay: Torched Vehicle's Fate (17.12.22)

This case was quite intriguing. The abandoned and charred vehicle in the picture had been sitting there for several years after being stolen from the estate. Upon contacting Dorset Council and Dorset Wildlife Trust for removal, I was informed that they couldn't intervene as the land belonged to a private equity firm in Dorchester. It seems it will deteriorate over time. If you wish to locate it, here are the GPS coordinates.
